I have been obsessed with keyboard shortcuts since Word for DOS was big. At a certain point using Windows I realized that it took me double the time to do the same work using the mouse versus using keyboard shortcuts. I try to avoid the mouse wherever I can since. It drives me nuts to watch people using the mouse to do a simple copy and paste. I want to yell at them to use freakin' [ctrl]+[c] and [ctrl]+[v]. Imagine if we could get only some of the 1,6 billion Internet Users to be just a little bit more productive?
The ShortcutWorld.com website came to life as a hobby of mine in 2006. I pretty much forgot about it after putting it live. A couple of friendly people created links to my site in 2008 so I decided to pick it up again in 2009. At this point I want to use it to work on my programming skills and to make it the #1 shortcut resource on the web. The site is a simple MySQL database with one PHP frontend page to display the shortcuts. No rocket science, but hopefully useful to many.
